My Secret Garden

I KNOW A LITTLE GARDEN,
HIDDEN OUT OF SIGHT,
WITH LITTLE PATHS AND ROCKERY
AND WATER TRICKLING BRIGHT.

IT HAS AN OLD STONE DOOR,
WHO MADE IT, I DON’T KNOW.
I USED TO TAKE MY DOLLS THERE,
MANY YEARS AGO.

IT WAS MY SECRET GARDEN,
I FOUND IT WHILE PLAYING AROUND,
I USED TO THINK NOBODY ELSE KNEW,
THIS GARDEN I HAD FOUND.

AND WHEN THE SCHOOL WAS OVER,
I’DE HURRY HOME FOR TEA,
CALLING FOR MY BEST FRIEND,
SAYING, DO YOU WANT TO COME WITH ME!.

WE’DE COLLECT OUR DOLLS AND HURRY,
TO OUR VERY SECRET PLACE.
THEN SIT ON A LITTLE WOODEN SEAT,
SEE THE REFLECTION OF A FACE.

ITS MANY YEARS AGO NOW,
AND I SELDOM GO THAT WAY,
BUT I’ME SURE MY SECRET GARDEN
IS STILL STANDING THERE TODAY.
