She Looked The Other Way

WITH WILD ABANDON HE KISSED HER
AS SHE TREMBLED IN THE RAIN.
HE TOLD HER HOW HE LOVED HER.
COULD NOT WAIT TO SEE HER AGAIN.

 HE GENTLY LAID HER DOWN.
NEATH THE SUMMER SKY THAT DAY.
AND AS THEY LAY IN SWEET CONTENT.
 SHE LOOKED THE OTHER WAY.

FOR SHE BELONGED TO SOMEONE ELSE.
 TO HIM SHE'DE BEEN UNTRUE.
 SHE THOUGHT ABOUT TOMORROW.
WHAT WAS SHE GOING TO DO.

THE ONLY THING SHE COULD DO.
 SAY GOODBYE AND QUICKLY GO.
AND HOPE WITH ALL HER HEART,
THAT HER LOVE WOULD NEVER KNOW.

                                                          HAZEL P MARSAY.
