A Handful Of Poems

A Handful Of Poems By Hazel Marsay

A New World

I WROTE OF LOVE AND TRAGEDY.
I WROTE OF WAR AND HATE.
 I LISTENED TO THE MELODIES,
 I LISTENED TO THE RAIDS.

THE WORLD HAS COME FULL CIRCLE.
THE WINDS OF LIFE DON’T CHANGE.
AND ALL THE TIME IT’S RAINING,
 I’ME STANDING IN THE RAIN.

I THOUGHT ABOUT A NEW WORLD.
A WORLD WHERE NONE WOULD CRY.
 BRIGHT COLOURS OF THE RAINBOW,
 GO DANCING IN THE SKY.

 SOMEWHERE IN ALL THIS DARKNESS,
 A STAR SHINES HIGH ABOVE.
THE NEW WORLD THAT I THOUGHT ABOUT.
 IS HEAVEN UP ABOVE.

                                                                     HAZEL P MARSAY.
